A Boost For Marwa from PharmAccess

Borrowing lessons from Universal Health Care, Kisumu County through it’s Governor Anyang Nyong’o continues to raise awareness and streamline Marwa Healthcare, a medical cover for those unable to afford expensive insurance.

With support from PharmAccess Foundation, the county has already paid close to 70 million to National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) for the households’ insurance premiums for 12 months as the first phase of the scheme.

Members eligible can access treatment and medication from outpatient services to oncology, chemotherapy, road ambulatory services, referrals, maternity services, dialysis, kidney transplant, surgical services, radiology, chemotherapy and MRI and overseas treatment.

In renewed commitment, PharmAccess has signed and MoU with the County Government to provide technical assistance and support for affordable, convenient, better healthcare in Kisumu. PharmAccess is introducing innovative financing mechanisms such as health insurance, and standards to assess and stimulate improvement of the quality of care delivered through SafeCare. Marwa Cover holders only require their mobile number and ID to access care.
